Female Title HistoriesThe Female Title history for wrestling can be split up in federations/organizations. NWA, TNA, WWWF/WWF/WWE, WXW, etc.
1st Wrestlicious Champion - Glory (Christina Ricci) The Fabulous Moolah is noted as being the longest running female wrestling champion. Although there is some controversy as to how long she had the title, there is nobody even close to her approximant 28 year reign, whether in the female OR male division. In September 19th, 1956 a tournament to crown the female champion that was vacated by June Byers, a 13 woman Battle Royal. The tournament ended with a match between Judy Grable and The Fabulous Moolah. The Fabulous Moolah had established herself at this time as one of the best and with this victory, proved she would pass the test of time holding the title for almost 28 years straight. Though Moolah was not the first recognized female champion. In 1935 Mildred Burke was crowned the NWA World Women's Champion when she defeated Clara Mortensen and held it herself for 19 years. Her NWA female title went to June Byers in 1954. June retired in 1956 which led to the tournament win and the longevity of The Fabulous Moolah.
