TNA Knockouts Tag Team Title History

TNA was conceived in 2002. It was decided in 2007 to have a TNA Knockouts division which comprised of highly skilled female athletes, not the eye candy of WWE Divas. On October 14th, 2007 TNA offered a 10 woman gauntlet match to crown the first ever TNA Knockouts champion. Gail Kim won to become TNA's first female champion.

 August 20th, 2009 it was decided to have a Tag Team tournament to design the first ever TNA Knockout Tag Team champion. Tara and Christy Hemme have teamed up, as did Taylor Wilde and Sarita. To find out the new champions watch TNA Thursdays on SPIKE TV 9pm EST.

The final match in the tournament was between Taylor Wilde and Sarita (The Wild Thangs) against Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne in which Taylor Wilde/ Sarita became the 1st ever TNA Knockout Tag Team Champions.

On January 4th, 2010 Taylor Wilde and Sarita faced Hamada and Awesome Kong. They held the titles since August 20th, 2009 but Hamada and Kong were to overwhelming. New champions were crowned.

On March 8th, 2010 on a Live Monday Night TNA it was announced that Hamada and Awesome Kong lost their titles because they did not defend it in 30 days. (Dixie Carter actually released Awesome Kong).

This presented a triple threat tag team match: Sarita & Taylor Wilde vs Madison Rayne & Velvet Sky vs Tara & Angelina Love.

With interference from Daffney, The Beautiful People won the TNA Tag Team titles.

On July 27th, 2010 Taylor Wilde and Hamada defeated Velvet Sky and Lacey Von Erich. Special thanks goes to Madison Rayne and Tara.

  December 6th, 2010 Title was vacated.

December 9th, 2010 Angelina Love and Winter defeated Madison Rayne and Tara.

March 13th, 2011 Rosita and Sarita defeated Winter and Angelina Love.

July 27th, 2010 Brooke Tessmacher and Tara defeated Rosita and Sarita.
