WWE Divas Title History

This title was designed to give the female wrestlers of Smackdown a shot of earning of viable championship. The WWE Women's Championship became exclusive to RAW in 2008 which led the General Manager of Smackdown to create another title. The Divas title was put up with a tournament which ended with Michelle McCool and Natalya Neidhart.

Michelle McCool became the very first WWE Divas Champion of it's short history. 3 women have held this prestige title so far, Maryse held it the longest at 216 days partially due to her dislocated knee, she couldn't wrestle for a while.

July 20th, 2008 - Michelle McCool becomes champion by defeating Natalya Neidhart.

December 26th, 2008 - Maryse beats Michelle McCool

July 26th, 2009 - Mickie James defeats Maryse

October 12th, 2009 - Jillian beats Mickie James, and has to defend the title immediately against Melina because the host on RAW didn't like the outcome.

October 12th, 2009 - Melina Perez beats Jillian

January 4th, 2010 - The title becomes vacant after Melina sustains a serious injury. Tournament to determine title.

February 22nd, 2010 - Maryse beats Gail Kim in the last match of the Tournament to become the new champion.

April 12th, 2010 - Eve Torres beats Maryse with a bridge for the Divas title. This was not surprising as Eve seemed to have been groomed for the title.

June 20th, 2010 - Alicia Fox beats Eve Torres in a match that included Gail Kim and Maryse. Alicia Fox won their rematch.
